Dear Friends,
Before getting to the subject in the title above, here’s my 5 minute presentation before the Lancaster County Board this morning, followed by my partner-in-truth, Sonny, here.
At 28:57, I meant to say, “elected” rather than “selected,” but “selected” actually worked just as well. As long as We the People are doing the selecting, we can call an election a real election. But when only a few people are doing the selecting in secret behind a cyber/digital curtain, the “election” becomes nothing more than a charade, a clown show.
When it comes to Nebraska’s elections, the chief clowns are Robert Evnen and Wayne Bena.
It you want a transcript, let me know. I basically gave the same presentation I gave last week, with a different ending. Two of the commissioners were missing last week. Hence the repeat. But the message bears repeating over and over, regardless of who’s there or not there.
an interesting side note
We found out why Lancaster County board meetings are held at 9 am on Tuesday mornings when hardly anyone from the public can make. I’ll share that information is the near future. I want to get to the subject of tirades.
tirades
My *friend* Janice McIntyre recently posted the following on FB while at the same time sharing this edition of my substack (thank you, Janice!). Please read what she said and then find my comments below (bold text is my doing).
Janice wrote:
I sometimes share the written words of Robert J. Borer, but please know that on some subjects I agree, on others, I disagree. I never discount any person simply for disagreement or not aligning perfectly with my beliefs and opinions. I happen to agree with his determination to rid our State of the voting machines, to return to the former way of hand-counting our votes with full transparency. I want to be clear, though, that I strongly disagree with his ongoing tirade AGAINST the Nebraska GOP. As one who has these past two and a half years shared perspectives and heard different perspectives from many of Nebraska’s Republicans, both in person and online, I can attest that never have I ever met another person with whom I fully had 100% agreement.
Imo, we shouldn't walk away from people who think differently, who don't agree with us on every point. Jesus certainly did not. [?] I believe that we should build relationships with others whom we encounter throughout our lives, in order to share the truth, love, and ability of Christ. In the Bible, we are told that we will be rejected by some. But Christ was always available to those who had ears to hear, in other words those who were willing to listen and consider his message. We humans are sometimes slow to understand, we may need to ruminate and digest what we've heard. So we are to have patience with one another as we build our relationships. Perhaps a person who rejected my perspective/testimony last year, will cross my path again, but this time "with ears to hear."
Division happens because of our delusional thinking that we are superior and capable of judging the hearts of others. The goal is not to create Division, but to further advance Love, and all the rest of the Fruit of the Spirit.
I publicly will say that I am proud to serve with the NEGOP. Those I've met in the many administrative roles across the state are amazing people, but certainly not perfect people. We are iron sharpening iron. We should continually be praying FOR one another, rather than speaking out AGAINST one another.
My response:
While Janice made some great points, there are issues.
Number 1. Not all tirades are created equal. Some are good, and some are bad. Take Stephen’s “tirade” in Acts 7. It was a great “tirade”…that ended with this:
Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye. Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers: Who have received the law by the disposition of angels, and have not kept it. (Act 7:51-53)
Not exactly "loving,” by today’s standards. But he spoke the truth, and it cost him his earthly life. And Jesus was standing there waiting.
The same happened with many of the prophets of old. They railed against the sins of the people, and were killed for it as well. Jesus did the same thing with the “religious leaders” of his day.
Number 2. Janice claims that:
Division happens because of our delusional thinking that we are superior and capable of judging the hearts of others [and] The goal is not to create Division, but to further advance Love…
Was Jesus delusional in his thinking? He was very divisive, because he spoke truth and people often didn’t want to hear it, let alone heed it. As I said, the same goes for many of God’s servants in times past.
Number 3. Janice claims that division is caused when people think they are superior and capable of judging the hearts of others.
Not necessarily true. There’s no need to judge the hearts of others, when the Master says “Ye shall know them by their fruits.” But God does at times reveal to us the hearts of others, and that doesn’t make us divisive.
Number 4. Janice says the goal is to always advance love.
I read Ezekiel 7 this morning. Check it out. God’s goal, and His goal for Ezekiel, was not to advance love (except in a much larger context), but to bring judgment. God is not the pushover we think He is. Neither was/is His Son. (And if I would have had time this morning, I would have told the Commissioners that.)
Sometimes enemies have to be destroyed to advance love.
Number 5. On the matter of being judgmental in general.
Anytime someone complains that someone else is being judgmental, they become a walking contradiction. They are committing the same “sin” that are complaining about in someone else. The fact is, we cannot live life without judging. It is hypocritical judging that Jesus warned us against.
Moving on.
my intentions
I will continue to speak what I regard as the truth, no matter who it offends.
I’m not the only one who thinks the party isn’t serving the People.
Without election integrity, nothing will change.
If the party isn’t OVERTLY fighting for election integrity, what good is it???
I’m not the only one who feels this way. There are plenty of others.
I recently connected with a good man in North Dakota who is fighting for election integrity “up” there. (Lots of people in every state are fighting for it.)
He gets it! Election Integrity is Everything!! EVERYTHING!!! Literally!!!
Here’s the front page of their website (click the link to go to the site):
And here’s one of the Q&As on the site:
That’s all I have. We better get tough, and get tough fast. 1776 is right around the corner.
God bless,
Robert J. Borer
I’m interested in Janice’s statements and appreciate her sharing her views. But we need to remember that we are to TELL THE TRUTH in love. Assessing facts is different than judging intentions. When a kid comes to you and tells you why he smacked someone at school, it’s our job to point out that’s not the right way to handle a dispute, but our first God-given job is to point out the error (which we saw from the fruit of their actions!). Corrections need to be made until the problem is corrected. That’s what true love does. Actions speak louder than words.
Oh Bob - right again. And again I pushed the Douglas Co. Board (NE) on a range of things, but repeating my Election Integrity Appeal - for DC to lead NE Counties in OUR efforts, for a "Presentation", soon, with you as the "Presentor" and WE THE PEOPLE joining you, as "Proponents", the other side as "Opponents". And we can question them if we so choose! And, get to refute their comments after they are done. Perhaps even call some back to the Podium, foe specific answers!
I presented them with a so called "Resolution" (?) the DC - NVAP has drafted - re: Douglas County Elections and the monitoring of counting, calling for ....... etc, as mentioned in my email. I did not represent them - but as I have attended a few mtg.' and they wanted attendee to distribute inf to the Board, I did so today! I've yet to see, hear, anyone from that group there! Time is short! Please try to make it's next meeting (12/5/23. Now is the time to 'Present" you! As the primary "Presentor" for our cause, which includes NVAP,....., as our "Proponents". They are now "On notice........" as the resolution states!
The Legislature won't accomplish this, with their short session - coming up soon! And they need this to set their feet on fire (DC should by then - LOBBY for "We the People" - not their ......!
