Dear Friends,
Lots of response to yesterday’s letter. I went back and read it again this morning, and to my dismay, I found a few typos and missing words. I ended up revising it. But not until I sent the following Public Records Requests early this morning:
To the SoS office:
I am hereby requesting, pursuant to Nebraska Public Records Law § 84-712 et seq., a digital copy of the communication from your office to county election officials prior to the 2022 general election whereby you informed them that Robert Borer has filed a notarized affidavit and is therefore "entitled to all [his] write-in votes" according to 32-615 (5).
And to our county election offices across the state:
I am hereby requesting, pursuant to Nebraska Public Records Law § 84-712 et seq., a digital copy of the communication you received from the Secretary of State's office prior to the 2022 general election informing you that Robert Borer has filed a notarized affidavit and is therefore "entitled to all [his] write-in votes" according to 32-615 (5).
That’s it for politics.
Now for God….
…without which politics is nothing but corruption.
…without which patriotism is nothing but corruption.
…without which this nation is nothing but corruption.
…without which everyone of us is nothing but corruption.
…without which everything is nothing but corruption.
We live in idolatrous times, and man assimilates to the character of the object he worships. In other words, people are evil because they worship false gods.
We need to start worshipping God again (as a nation), and by that I mean looking unto, reverencing, honoring and obeying Him. He will transform us (individually and collectively) into the image of His Son if we do.
We are in desperate need of an apologetic (defense) of the Christian faith as the only true means of redemption.
To that end, I’d like to share a brilliant 19th century work that provides the best overview of the Bible and of God’s purposes throughout the events of the Bible. You don’t find such critical thinking in our day and age (the 21st cent). We’re talking the first half of the 1800’s with this work. All they had to do back then in their spare time was read and think (and pray). There were no distractions like TV or radio or jumping on a plane for vacation. I discovered this work many years ago and recently gave it another read. It makes such great sense out of the Bible.
The work is called the Philosophy of the Plan of Salvation, by James B. Walker. It was originally written in 1841, but went through many reprints. It’s been selected by scholars as being culturally important and part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it (or used to know it). Walker was a skeptic who went looking for the truth. The work is profound.
You can read it here.
Or you can listen to it here or here.
You can also find a Kindle download on the net.
I liked listening and reading at the same time.
Give it a half hour of your time and see what you think.
God bless,
Robert J. Borer
P.S. You might want to take a second peak at yesterday’s letter.
You make me think and dive into previously uncharted intellectual waters.
Thank you.
Amen Robert! Thank you for sharing.
