why are we having so much trouble with our NE unicameral legislature?

Dear Friends,

I’ll get right to the point, which is answering the above question:

1. We don’t have real elections.
   We the People don’t get to count votes.
   Only a private third party gets to do that—and that behind closed doors.
   Therefore, we don’t know who’s getting elected and who's getting s-elected.

   In other words, we have no control over who’s getting “elected” to our Legislature.

2. Many/most/all? of our legislators take bribes, against their oath.
   See the blue bold typeface below:

   NE Constitution, Article XV-1.

   Official oath

   Executive and judicial officers and members of the legislature, before they enter upon their official duties shall take and subscribe the following oath, or affirmation.
   "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support the constitution of the United States, and the constitution of the State of Nebraska, and will faithfully discharge the duties of .......... according to the best of my ability, and that at the election at which I was chosen to fill said office, I have not improperly influenced in any way the vote of any elector, and have not accepted, nor will I accept or receive, directly or indirectly, any money or other valuable thing from any corporation, company or person, or any promise of office, for any official act or influence (for any vote I may give or withhold on any bill, resolution, or appropriation)."

3. A career politician and RINO member of the Uniparty by the name of George Norris discarded the wisdom of our founders and sold the people of our good state on the idiotic idea of switching to a “nonpartisan” unicameral back in 1934. (Mr. Norris was a mixed-bag.)
   Quoting from Federalist 51, entitled “The Structure of the Government Must Furnish the Proper Checks and Balances Between the Different Departments,” written by Madison:

   “it is not possible to give to each department an equal power of self defence. In republican government the legislative authority, necessarily, predominates. The remedy for this inconveniency is, to divide the legislature into different branches; and to render them by different modes of election, and different principles of action, as little connected with each other, as the nature of their common functions, and their common dependence on the society, will admit. It may even be necessary to guard against dangerous encroachments by still further precautions. As the weight of the legislative authority requires that it should be thus divided, the weakness of the executive may require, on the other hand, that it should be fortified. An absolute negative, on the legislature, appears at first view to be the natural defence with which the executive magistrate should be armed. But perhaps it would be neither altogether safe, nor alone sufficient. On ordinary occasions, it might not be exerted with the requisite firmness; and on extraordinary occasions, it might be perfidiously abused. May not this defect of an absolute negative be supplied, by some qualified connection between this weaker department, and the weaker branch of the stronger department, by which the latter may be led to support the constitutional rights of the former, without being too much detached from the rights of its own departmen[t]?” Click for source here.

   Or, to put it in simpler language:

   ”In a republic, the legislative branch, as most connected to the will of the people, necessarily dominates. Yet one can divide the legislative power into two branches that are constituted in different ways and thus responsible to different groupings of citizens. One can also grant veto power to the executive, while prudently refraining from making the executive veto final and absolute.” Click for source here.

   Norris’s vision for the Unicameral was to be nonpartisan. But what makes a unicameral any less partisan than a Bicameral?? The absence of labels??

   Give me a break. What a scam.

   The unicameral only brought more nontransparency—including the “secret vote.”

   Anytime the Nebraska Examiner slobbers all over something, that’s a clue you need to question it. They have slobbered all over the fact that we have a Unicameral twice now since the first of the year:

4. The members of the Legislature are supposed to think for themselves. They aren’t doing that.

   They’re supposed to represent the People and secure their/our rights. That aren’t doing that, either.
   They’re supposed to act like a separate branch of government, and serve as a check and balance, not as rubber stamp for the executive branch or for special interests. They aren’t doing that, either.

   What do they do every time it comes to election legislation? They defer to the executive branch! They defer to the SoS, who wants an easier job. They defer to the “Big Three” election commissioners appointed by the Governor, who also want easier jobs. They defer to private interests.
   The Unicameral is supposed to be listening to and representing the People! They aren’t doing it!!

5. And then, we’re told that the AG’s job is to protect the Legislature, and the Executive.
   What hogwash.

   The AG was elected by the People (presumably) to protect the rights of the People.

   “…and to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men.”

   Why is that so hard to comprehend??

   Last but not least, our SoS is lying, as if everyone didn’t already know that.

   Our tabulators might not technically be connected to the internet, but the USB sticks they use are at some point.
   But more importantly, our Election Management System (EMS), which handles our election “results,” is connected. Evnen has given at least three non-governmental organizations (NGO) direct access to our state’s election management system (CIS, BPro and Microsoft), and that doesn’t include the entities that are piggybacking onto these NGOs. It also doesn’t include one corporation—ES&S, and everyone piggybacking on them.
