separation of powers

Dear Friends,

Men are corruptible and power is intoxicating. Hence the need for government power to be divided among equal branches (and levels) so they can serve as checks and balances on each other.

Pretty basic, right?

Or is it?

What if the separate powers no longer serve as checks and balances on each other??

What if the separate powers protect and serve each other instead? Over and against serving the People and the Constitution they swore to serve and protect?

Think about this for a minute:
All members of government currently have their own taxpayer-funded legal representation/counsel.
The executive branch has its own taxpayer-funded legal counsel.
Legislative committees have their own taxpayer-funded legal counsel.
County clerks have their taxpayer-funded legal counsel.
Local municipalities have their own taxpayer-funded legal counsel.
And the judiciary? Well, everyone thinks they have the final say, as if they were infallible, so they are their own taxpayer-funded legal counsel.

Where is WE THE PEOPLE’S taxpayer-funded legal counsel?? Where is the taxpayer-funded legal counsel that advises WE THE PEOPLE on government corruption and malfeasance and how to fight it??

See how the deck is stacked?

Government no longer serves the People. It serves the elite. Government is in bed with an elite and monopolistic corporate world that has way too much money.

The time is drawing near “to alter or to abolish,” as the Declaration says. No one is protecting the People … or the Constitution … or our elections. There is no real Consent.

Speaking of Consent, let’s apply the principle of Separation of Powers to the way our elections are being administered.

Is there a county anywhere in this state (NE) that a person or family can move to where ES&S does NOT have control of the “elections” in that county??

Is there one??

No. There is not. You can’t find one county election official in the whole state who has control of their elections. ES&S controls them all.

Talk about centralized, monopolized and bribable power! Evnen strains at a gnat (single mothers) and swallows a camel (a private company with cheating machines).

When the people of a county don’t have control of their elections, they are not self-governing. They do not have self-governing power. They have given their self-governing power away.

What would you think if Evnen paid a private team of strangers millions of your hard-earned tax dollars to go around the state hand-counting every county election … IN SECRET, BEHIND CLOSED DOORS, with NO TRANSPARENCY OR VERIFIABILITY??

What do you think is happening now, with ES&S??

You and not self-governing. Not to the extent that you should be.
