Dear Friends,
I got in at 4:00 AM from the Scottsbluff/Mitchell area and got four hours sleep. Several things to take care of before heading to Crete tonight (see details below).
Lots to say, but little time to say it right now, so this will be quick. (I’ll have more time tomorrow.)
Gering was a smaller group than previous meetings on Friday and Satuday at Clear Creek, Ericson and Culbertson, but the conversation was outstanding. Bottom line: Lots of people don’t want Pillen…everyone we talk to is losing their fear of “voting for the lesser of two evils”…and everyone we talk to is asking “What can I do to help?”
One attendee (Tim Maschler) said it is our responsibility to vote principle and conscience and leave the rest to God. He quoted the following Scripture:
For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another. (Psa 75:6-7)
Sometimes God says it’s time for judgment. Other times He says it’s time to allow government of, by and for the people.
My prayer has been for a new birth of freedom through a new birth of repentence and personal responsibility, so that we don’t lose government of, by and for the people… and so that we can give God all the praise, honor and glory that is due Him name. A political revolution requires a spiritual revival.
Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other. —John Adams
Whichever way it goes, voting out of fear is the wrong way to go. God is not in fear. (Nevermind that a vote that is counted by the machine is a wasted vote.)
Much more to say about voting the lesser of two evils tomorrow.
From Gering, we headed to the RedZ Bar and Grill in Mitchell. The owner, Mike Roberts, is a great patriot. He sat down with us and we conversed at length. He’s very well-spoken. We struck gold when he offered to put one of our signs up in his entry way. His eating establishment is very popular and draws clientele in from a large area. Here’s Talon Cordle with the sign:
Much thanks to Talon and Lory Storm for everything they did this past weekend. They are both rockstars.
