Dear Friends,
Intro.
Earth is a temporary battle zone.
The battle is between good and evil. (No, the battle is not between God and Himself. Evil is separate and apart from God and very real. God is sovereign, but that doesn’t mean He micromanages everything.)
God created Earth to start a family, and to give potential future heavenly family members a sense of how destructive things get when they don’t trust Him and put Him first.
God to Earth.
What we have been witnessing in our country and around the world is what happens when men stray from their Creator.
Throughout history, God has always had His "People."
And those People would often go astray.
When they did, God would discipline them…often using their enemies.
If they sincerely repented, He forgave them, and restored them back to fellowship.
Some never repented.
A rare few never strayed, but still suffered as a result of prevalent national sins.
Human Government.
God grants different forms of government depending on the virtue and intelligence, or vice and ignorance, of the People.
When we look back at our Founding, and what those men did for us, we have to remember the context. We had a large contingent, percentage-wise, of virtuous and intelligent people in our country at the time. And for that reason, God granted them, albeit through great sacrifice, a limited and representative form of Government whereby they enjoyed great Liberty.
This is why I said, numerous times on the campaign trail, that a spiritual revival must accompany a political revolution. If we are going to resurrect politically, as a country, we must also resurrect spiritually. God is not going to resurrect us only to let us go back to our old ways. It ain’t gonna happen.
What makes a person virtuous? Many things. But one of the most important is that a virtuous person resists evil. He/she is also vigilant.
Reminder.
The founding father (Benjamin Franklin) who said, in so many words, “you have a republic, if you can keep it,” also said the following to the President of the Convention in 1787 when they had reached a critical juncture:
"I have lived, Sir, a long time; and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth, That God governs in the affairs of men! We have been assured, Sir, in the Sacred Writings, that ‘except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it!’ [Psalm 127:1] I firmly believe this; and I also believe that without His concurring aid we shall succeed in this political building no better than the builders of Babel; we shall be divided by our little partial local interests, our projects will be confounded, and we ourselves shall become a reproach and a by-word down to future ages. And, what is worse, mankind may hereafter, from this unfortunate instance despair [give up the cause] of establishing government by human wisdom, and leave it to chance, war and conquest.
"I therefore beg leave to move, that henceforth prayers, imploring the assistance of heaven, and its blessings on our deliberations, be held in this Assembly every morning and that one or more of the clergy of this city be requested to officiate in that service."
If it took sacrifice, prayer and reliance upon God to give birth to this country, it seems to me it’s going to take sacrifice, prayer and reliance upon God to bring it back, and to sustain it.
Closing.
I say all that for its own sake, but also to introduce you to the video below. It makes a lot of sense to me. A near death experience makes a lot of sense.
The video also gives hope. Listen all the way to the end. Juan is one of Trump’s right hand men. This is all about strategy, and strategy is talked a lot about in this video.
Lots more to say, but I don’t want to water this down.
Peace and God Bless.
Pray without ceasing.
Your humble servant,
Robert J. Borer
I listen to Juan all the time, and have his books- Kid by the Side of the Road. I would recommend everyone listen to this video.
