Dear Friends,
Regarding the title above. God is a personal, rational, moral, sentient being. He exists in a perfect unity and fellowship of three persons.
We are also personal, rational, moral, sentient beings.
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. (Gen 1:26)
God showed us just how much He created us in His image and likeness by eventually (through the incarnation) clothing Himself in human flesh in the person of Jesus Christ.
We are truly fearfully and wonderfully made.
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. (Psa 139:14)
God and government
God is the moral governor of the Universe.
"...the government shall be upon his shoulder..." Isa 9:6
God created us for maximum freedom under His government (laws—there can be no freedom without laws or boundaries to guide us all).
God gave us the right to self-government under Him.
He created us to enjoy His love, His creation, and our fellow man (generic).
God created us to love Him supremely and our neighbor as ourselves.
But…….for love to be love, it must be a choice. So God effectively said, "Love, trust and obey Me supremely, because I and I alone know how to govern righteously and in the best interests of all, or fall to your own selfish devices and be ruined."
Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. (Luk 10:27)
Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. (Rom 13:10)
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. (1Co 13:4-8)
^^^The context of that last passage is the many membered body of Christ, each with gifts differing. We are not called to love evil. We are not called to rejoice in wrongdoing. To the contrary. Christ is our example, and he wasn't all smiles, nor was he weak or wishy-washy.
Again, God called us to love. Unfortunately, men have chosen to rebel against His direct government and go their own way, and the result has been turmoil, destruction and death. (This temporary, probationary world will serve as an eternal testimony to what happens when men go their own way. In other words, it will serve as a reminder and deterrent to all holy moral beings, who will retain their free will throughout eternity.)
Because of man’s fall (or rather jump) into sin (i.e., pride and selfishness), God had to institute human governments as part of his moral government, to stem the tide of destruction, even though human governments would never be perfect (only “more perfect”).
Human governments take many forms.
The particular form depends upon the virtue and intelligence of the People. The more virtuous and intelligent, the more democratic. The less virtuous and intelligent, the more autocratic, dictatorial and/or despotic.
Revolutions become necessary and obligatory, when the virtue and intelligence, or the vice and ignorance of the people demand them. (Charles Finney)
A pure democracy requires a very high and enduring level of virtue and intelligence in the People. Which is not likely.
Therefore, our founders chose the form of government called a Republic, because history taught them that men are not angels and are often easily given over to the temptations of power and money.
The definition of a Republic:
a state in which supreme power is held by the people and their elected representatives, and which has an elected or nominated president rather than a monarch.
More accurately, our Founders choose a compound constitutional republic, with checks and balances against the abuse of power built in at multiple levels.
The current state
Our nation has greatly fallen, in spite of all the built in checks and balances. It remains to be seen if God can revive us in our current condition.
Personally, I don't think He can—He can’t force men to be good. (And that’s why I see a near death experience coming, at minimum.)
The only way I see that He can revive us is by getting rid of lots of people and starting over with a remnant, and we know what that means.
God has always had to get rid of a lot of People along the way because they were so corrupt. Think the flood. Think the Exodus. Think the Canaanites. Think Sodom and Gomorrah. Think the captivity of the Jews. Think the destruction of Jerusalem (His own people). Think about all the nations that have come and gone.
God is calling us to repentance, and if we don't take heed, woe is us.
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (2Pe 3:9)
Here’s the thing. There comes a time when many in fact do perish, because they didn't listen. We have plenty of examples in the Scriptures.
We have to return to our foundations
We have to return to our foundations, spiritually, domestically politically. I.e., God, family, county. Every "house" built on sand will fall.
Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. (Mat 7:24-27)
If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD'S throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men. The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth. Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup. For the righteous LORD loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright. (Psa 11:3-7)
Closing
Obviously, I encourage everyone to read their Bibles (the Gospels, Proverbs and Psalms are my favorites).
But I also encourage everyone to read The 1776 Report that Trump put out on January 18th, 2021 just before he left the White House. It's an outstanding document, and a must read, if we are to revive our political system, which is currently corrupt to the core.
I'm more than happy to send my highlighted copy to anyone who wants it, but every word is worth reading. You can find the intro to it here.
We really are back in 1776. The situation is very serious.
A couple misc items
Our fellow Nebraska patriot friend, Dean Christensen, recently wrote this:
In my opinion, most of our state senators who call themselves republicans, the governor, the SoS and his side kick in charge of elections pretty much fit the description of Trotsky-Marxists as described by Robert Brown in Constitution video #4, and that answers a lot of questions regarding their behavior. They are not republicans, we should not refer to them as republicans, they are imposters who are not abiding by the Constitution and it’s time for the Sheriff to round them up.
As Lenin is attributed with saying, “The best way to control the opposition is to lead it ourselves” and that, by cracky, is just what is happening to us.
Here's an outstanding overview of the Israel-Palestine conflict, if you want to understand what is going on over there. Seriously. It’s a very good and concise overview.
Here's an outstanding article on the morality of election machines. I think I'll write a separate article on it.
I recently filed a Public Records Request with the Governor's office for info on his gallivanting around the world:
This is the reply I got.
Last but not least, here's a bit of philosophical thinking for you that I sent to a family member recently. This takes us back to where we started above, which is with God. Too many people paint God as afar off in some strange universe apart from ours, where He can’t relate.
Dear Xxxxxx,
Here's a little something to challenge and fine-tune your thinking, when you have time.
It's an almost universal statement made by preachers that “God created time.” (Note: the idea is not supported by Scripture.)
But what is time but an abstraction that speaks to the duration or passage or movement or sequence of living, personal existence?
In other words, time is not a thing in itself. It is a function of personal existence, the ultimate of which is God’s existence.
People often confuse time with the measurement of time, but they are not the same thing.
Our measurement of time is based on the solar system. But what if we no longer needed sleep and lived in an eternal (everlasting) day. What would the passage of activity be measured by?
(I don't know the answer to that question. But I'm sure God has some way of accounting for the passage of activity in heaven, so we can manage our “appointments.”)
Going back to the idea that God *created time. The big question is, how would He create it without not already having it?
I mean, the creation of anything necessarily involves a sequence of events…a before, during and after.
God would need time (duration) to create time, just as He would need time to create anything else.
But that doesn't make sense. You don't need to create time if it already exists.
God is a personal being who engages in activity, and there is always a before, during and after to those activities, which means there is always an abstract forward-moving passage of time with God.
Again, the passage of “time” is inherent in the personal being and life of God.
Think about the incarnation. There was a before, during and after. And that event radically changed the being of God for all eternity.
I know it’s hard to imagine "time" (or God) as having no beginning. But for anything to exist, something must have always existed.
It is harder to imagine everything coming from nothing, than to imagine that God never had a beginning.
In other words, God has always existed. He is the great I AM.
And not a timeless I AM. He moves through history with us. Because that’s what He created us for…FELLOWSHIP (fellows in the same “ship"). He is an ever present help in time of trouble (not to mention an ever present delight in times of peace and plenty).
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. (Psa 46:1)
Cheers. :-)
This kind of thinking is not novel to me. Much smarter and more devoted Christians than I have gone before, paving the way.
God bless you all,
Robert J. Borer
Bob, fantastic observations! Without God there can be no morality. That doesn’t mean God is absent, but that many fail to acknowledge His existence. Therefore, without conscious….no guidelines….and no desire for any, there’s going to be a continuous downward spiral in humanity…..The perfect opportunity for satanic influence. Knowing God is a choice. They just don’t want to. They’re in for a big surprise! He’s God - WE ARE NOT!
Thank you so much for the scriptures they were beautiful. Too bad the rhinos and the Democrats wouldn’t read them. Jesus true King Of All Nations may your reign be recognized on earth and May the whole world burn with love for you and your most sacred heart🙏❤️. I truly believe that America is going to go through a near death experience. We need to pray pray much🙏 I’m putting the precious blood of Jesus over America and over Nebraska, our homes and families, loved ones, those near and dear to my heart that I have promised to pray for! Thank you so much for a great article Robert God bless you for all that you do. An a big thank you to the other gentleman also, for his letter to Pillen!
