This year’s event will be dedicated to special friend and true patriot, Jim Lambley, who passed away recently. Jim and his wife Deneen owned and operated KSDZ radio in Gordon, Nebraska and KDJL in Valentine, Nebraska. Jim’s voice will always be remembered. There will be a special event Saturday afternoon to honor him
Tony Burton from Turning point USA will speak on how the Bible and Constitution are related. We are very excited that Turning Point USA will be here for this event.
Bill Forbes, a minister from Paxton, will present us with an old-fashioned, uplifting and inspirational, river revival talk.
Cowboy poet, RP Smith, one of the more famous entertainers in western style poetry, will be present for our enjoyment.
For the main event, Wayne Hage Jr., from central Nevada will talk about his family‘s lifelong battle with the BLM over water and grazing rights. Wayne’s father wrote a book on this battle that is used today as a reference by the United States Supreme Court. Wayne Jr was featured on a Fox News special program called Enemy of the State. Wayne and his family will be present all three days.
Saturday evening will conclude with a beautiful firework display!
This will be an event for the entire family to enjoy with plenty to see & do. A word about Jim Lambley:
Jim Lambley and Twister Radio in Western Nebraska: A Legacy of Local Broadcasting
Jim Lambley was a prominent figure in Western Nebraska radio, a "legacy broadcaster" who dedicated his life to serving the communities of the Sandhills. He passed away on April 17, 2025, at the age of 74, leaving behind a significant impact on local media.
Jim’s Radio Career:
* Early Beginnings: Lambley's love for radio began during his senior year of high school while working at KBRB in Ainsworth, Nebraska. He obtained his First Class Radiotelephony Engineers License, a testament to his dedication.
* Ownership and Expansion: In 1984, Jim and his wife, Deneen Lee Lambley, purchased KSDZ Radio in Gordon, Nebraska. They later expanded their reach by building and putting KDJL Radio on the air in Kilgore/Valentine, Nebraska.
* A Voice for the People: Lambley was known for taking his broadcast license seriously and acting as a "dedicated public advocate and watchdog for the people." He was unafraid to tackle local, regional, national, and community issues, using his platform to inform and engage his listeners. His programming often featured country music and classic oldies, showcasing his deep knowledge and love for the genres.
* Beyond Radio: Beyond broadcasting, Jim Lambley was a multi-talented individual, working as an auctioneer, rancher, farmer, telephone man, salesman, coyote hunter, and horseman. He always emphasized that he never felt like he was "going to work" because he enjoyed his profession so much.
Twister Radio (KSDZ and KDJL):
* The Stations: Twister Radio consisted of KSDZ-FM (95.5 FM) in Gordon and KDJL-FM (99.5 FM) in Valentine. Both stations primarily broadcast country music and were a vital source of local news, agriculture, weather, and sports for the Sandhills region.
* Sale to Flood Communications: In 2023, Jim and Deneen Lambley, operating as DJ Broadcasting, sold Twister Radio to Flood Communications, Nebraska's largest media company.
Jim Lambley's contributions to Western Nebraska radio, particularly through Twister Radio, are remembered for their strong local focus, community advocacy, and commitment to delivering relevant information and entertainment to the Sandhills.
Jim interviewed me several times when I (Robert Borer) was running for office. He was a great man with a great mind and a great voice. He knew how to ask the right questions and wasn’t afraid to take on government corruption. I considered him a great friend. The last time I saw him was in one of his radio stations. I stopped by to say hi, and he took the opportunity to pull out his ballot and cast his vote in front of me. Truly humbling, from such a great man. We lost a great advocate for the People when he sold out to Flood.
But he was getting up there in age, and still ranching it. Not that his age took away from his looks, or his strength, mind you. He was a still a tall slender, strong, good-looking man with that natural macho cowboy look to the end. You couldn’t help but love him, unless you were a RINO.
And that brings us back to Flood. In spite of Jim’s age, Flood and Co couldn’t wait to buy him out and shut him out. Word has it, the offer was “too good to pass up.” Jim’s conservative and constitutional voice was just too strong for the likes of Nebraska RINOs.
I can’t imagine Jim doing anything other than resting in peace at this time. I can’t wait to see him again.
And with that, I need to end this letter. It’s too hard to see the screen through tears.
God bless you all,
Robert Borer
Bob, my very best to brother. I would be there if I could. Thank you for all you do.
I sure do miss my friend, remember when he rescued you from the blizzard south of Gordon ❤️
