Dear Friends,
I just sent the following to a few members of the press, along with election officials across the state.
subject: Where are the real journalists? ...and the real election officials?
[no salutation]
Quoting Dan Rather from 2007:
"What's more important to you? Knowing that your vote is recorded as you cast it, or the profits of voting machine manufacturers?
"It's an obvious question. But when citizens try to get to the bottom of how these [overpriced] machines, bought with your taxpayer money, either work or don't work, manufacturers continually hide behind the wall of "trade secrets."
"Are these machines that determine who decides our laws, who runs our states, and who sits in the White House with the power to direct our armed forces, no different from say the formula for Coca-Cola, or McDonalds special sauce?
"We don't think so, and that's why we tried to get answers tonight, and raise questions about accountability. But unlike Congress or prosecutors, we aren't armed with subpoena power. We can't force companies to prove that they take concerns about their machines and their [punch card] ballots seriously.
"Their message is trust us. But the information we have been able to obtain suggests that trust has not been earned and that voting machines warrant at the very least much closer scrutiny than they have received so far. Because as we heard Florida's Governor Crist ask, 'What could be more important in democracy than making sure that the right to vote is one that we can have confidence in?'"

I'll add this.
Secret-software-and-hardware "voting" machines were sold to legislators BY ELECTION OFFICIALS as the way for them to do business. It was easier and faster. Easier for them and faster for citizens and candidates who just couldn't wait overnight for their election "results."
Easier and faster. That was their reason. It's all in the legislative record. The People had no voice in this. The legislature did not entertain input from the general public.
Do you really think "election officials" were advocating for their constituents??? They were advocating for themselves, so they wouldn't have to work so hard. (Nevermind the option of simply working smarter.)
It was one of the biggest scams in history, and still is, and the blame falls squarely on election officials, legislators and journalists.
"The Salvation of the State is Watchfulness in the Citizen." But wait. We the Citizens aren't allowed to watch, in any real, meaningful way, when it comes to our elections. Everything meaningful is done in the dark, in secret.
It's your fault this continues.
There is no guarantee of the peaceful transfer of power without real, transparent and verifiable elections.

P.S. Black Box "Voting"
[end of letter]
That’s it.
God is our refuge. A very present help in time of trouble. We find our shelter beneath His shadow.
God bless.

Once again...I have a degree in journalism. Broadcast journalism, but I've written for a few newspapers and magazines as well. I worked for a National Public Radio affiliate in college and was a stringer for the the Associated Press. This was all back when journalism still meant something.
If these partisan hacks were a journalists, he'd be investigating these sham elections to the fullest. If half these over paid scribblers were 'journalists' they'd be asking how feeding your ballot into a machine with 'proprietary' software (that you can't examine) and then having laws in place that prohibit you the citizen from seeing actual vote tallies produced by the at software is any way a fair election. But as we saw with our mad queen during the shamdemic, they NEVER ask hard questions that skate close to actual journalism. They are bought and paid for scribblers, licking the boots of their overlords. Not just nationally, but right here in Lincoln and Omaha. The level of shilling for those in power by the Lincoln Journal Star, Channels 8 and 10 and the Omaha media was/is nauseating.
No matter how much you hate the garbage mainstream media, it's not enough.
Perhaps one of the worst falsehoods prevalent in our society is the one to which far too many folks still subscribe: That the media are presenting unbiased facts from both sides of a given issues and allowing you the reader/listener to decide what to believe. No. These elitist turds are skewing stories the direction they want them to be perceived because they honestly believe that you're a) too stupid to discern for yourself and b) you require their pedantic condescension to 'understand what's going on.'
There is a trite little tautology used in the journalism world to warn those in power that, 'You shouldn't argue with people who buy ink by the barrel full.' To which I would clap back, 'And yet truth and objectivity remain beyond your means.'
Oh yea!- I had fun with that and my Trump hat at the Post 1 AL KERIOKE LAST SAT NIGHT. DID A JACKIE GLEASON STRUT, WAIVING MY HAT, ACROSS THE VACANT DANCE FLOOR. GOT SOME APPLAUSE EVEN!
