Friends,
Someone suggested the reason my write-in votes weren’t counted in the general election is because I missed the filing deadline.
That is, of course, not true. I filed on Friday, September 30th and paid my $1,050 filing fee, which my bank account shows was cashed:
But more importantly, I came across the “Filing Acknowledgement” from the SoS office this morning as I was doing a little office cleaning. Below is a snapshot:
Notice the line that says,
“Your name will be counted should it be written on the applicable write-in line on the ballot.”
There are no qualifications to that statement, such as, “you need 5% of the vote before your votes are counted” …... which begs the question, if they don’t count the votes, how do they know if I got 5% or not?
See how they lie?
They aren’t counting our votes. They’re manipulating them.
We know Evnen and Bena don’t like me. If I had to deal with someone I regarded as a troublemaker who actually had very little support, I’d have been happy to count his/her votes and expose to everyone the fact that this troublemaker has virtually no support.
But then, if I were counting, I’d be counting ALL votes, not just write-in votes, and I’d be counting them honestly, transparently, and in such a way that any voter could verify the results for themselves, and I wouldn’t need any new laws to do it.
When it comes to filing, the fact of the matter is, if a person tries to file late, they won’t be allowed to file, period.
One more thing. I just went another round with both the Lancaster Co Election Office and the AG’s office (nothing has changed in the AG’s office as a result of the election, in case you’re wondering). Here’s what I requested:
”I am hereby requesting, pursuant to Nebraska Public Records Law § 84-712 et seq., a digital copy of all audit logs from the EMS laptop used in the 2022 general election.”
Lancaster Co Deputy Election Commissioner Becki Gaston-Wise flat denied the request. (Shively’s retired and his replacement must not be up to speed yet.)
Ms. Gaston-Wise didn’t deny the logs existed, she just refused to provide them:
I responded with the following, which she never answered:
Deputy,
Can you tell me what category this "protected information" falls under?
I do not see anything in that statute that prevents the copying and sharing of digital records created in the course of the People's elections.
Like I said, she never responded. So, I appealed the decision to the AG’s office, and this is what I said:
Dear Mr. Hilgers,
I filed a Public Records Request with the Lancaster County Election Office for the Election Management System (EMS) laptop Audit Logs from the 2022 General Election. I was told this was "protected information" without any basis for the assertion, other than a reference to a statute that says nothing about digital/electronic records that are easily copied.
What is it about these "Audit Logs" that makes it necessary for them to be protected from the public who paid for them and for whom they were designed to serve? The digital information is not at risk, since I am only asking for a copy. I am not asking for the device, or access to the device, they live on. Nor am I asking for usernames and/or passwords.
Please advise.
Mike supported Becki’s denial.
So sad.
I’m not trying to contest an election. I’m trying to verify the results. And they are keeping all of our records from us.
The point of a Public Records Request (PRR) is to keep government transparent, accountable and honest.
Elections are too important to us to allow them to hire a private company to count our votes in the dark.
ES&S is behind all this. They don’t want us to know what they are doing with our votes.
Speaking of ES&S, my anonymous friend has released Part 4 on this no-good company. Check it out. And if you didn’t catch this article on ES&S the last time I shared it, it’s a great one.
That’s all I wanted to share.
Peace,
Bob
I hear people talk about social injustice🤮. What about election injustice and corruption??🙅♀️We the people just keep getting screwed! I think these people are digging their own graves!🥲
The way I see it, that filing fee ensured that all write-in votes for you not only would be properly counted but those counts would be considered as sacred as the others. Injustices like this MUST be revisited when the tables turn.
